This easy dinner is full of Asian flavor and broils quickly in one pan. The green beans barely made the photo, but they are deliciously crunchy and a great side for the tender salmon.
Marinade:
1/4 cup honey
4 tsp reduced-sodium soy sauce
1 1/2 tsp five spice powder
2 minced garlic cloves
Whisk marinade and pour over four 6 oz. salmon fillets (skin side down). Turn salmon over (now skin side up) and allow to marinate at room temperature for 15 minutes.
Green Beans:
Trimmed, slender fresh green beans
Toss beans with 2 tsp canola oil and 1 tsp Asian sesame oil. Arrange on one-half of baking tray.
Arrange salmon skin side down on the other half of the tray — brush with remaining marinade.
Broil 6″ from broiler for 5 minutes — remove tray and use tongs to rearrange beans for even cooking.
Broil another 5 minutes or so, until salmon is just cooked through and beans are crsip-tender.
Plate salmon – toss green beans with 2 Tbs. toasted sesame seeds and 1 tsp lemon juice – add to plate. ENJOY!!!
Looks AMAZING. And only one pan! You really can’t beat that.
Thanks! You should have seen how I was freaking out that raw salmon marinade would run across the pan and somehow taint my beans — despite the fact that it was broiling on “hi”. 😉
